I'm an award-winning freelance writer and editor with over fifteen years' experience in print and online. As a writer, I specialise in northern Scotland – I'm the author of Scotland's North Highlands for Bradt Travel Guides, which has been shortlisted for 'Guide of the Year' at the 2025 Travel Media awards, and the best-selling North Coast 500: Britain's Ultimate Road Trip for Collins. I have written extensively about the region for a number of major publications, including The Guardian, The Independent, The i, Lonely Planet, Scotland Magazine and BBC Travel. For the last, my article 'The Scottish isle you can only visit on a day trip' won 'UK Consumer Online Feature of the Year' at the Inspire Global Media Awards 2025. I also write about family, slow and sustainable travel, focused largely on the UK and Europe.​
